GBTA Austin Chapter Member Code of Ethics & Conduct

Responsibilities of Members

The GBTA Austin Chapter welcomes members to engage in educational programs, network with industry colleagues, and volunteer for leadership roles. Members are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards and contribute to a professional, inclusive, and respectful environment.

Our Standards

  • Prohibit Discrimination: Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by prohibiting harassment, intimidation, and discrimination based on race, religion, gender, disability, or other protected categories.

  • Maintain Professional Integrity: Act with honesty, transparency, and good faith in all business dealings.

  • Respect Privacy: Protect the confidentiality of client and member information, sharing only with permission or as required by law.

  • Avoid Anticompetitive Practices: Refrain from agreements or behaviors that limit competition, such as territorial restrictions or group boycotts.

  • Foster Fair Practices: Promote ethical, legal, and equitable trade practices within the business travel community.

  • Conduct Thoughtful Networking: Network respectfully, avoiding unsolicited business solicitation during chapter events and conducting business at mutually agreed times.

  • Promote Growth and Unity: Collaborate with fellow members to support professional and personal development and foster a sense of community.

Enforcement

Members who violate this Code of Ethics & Conduct may face suspension or revocation of their membership to protect the integrity and values of the organization.
